Aged Care Updates – Statewide

Anglicare
Anglicare has provided a draft copy of the proposed agreement just prior to the last bargaining meeting, held on Wednesday 16 April 2025. The ANMF has reviewed the draft and has raised a few comments on different clauses which appear to be misaligned to what was discussed during the bargaining phase. The ANMF will take these concerns to your employer seeking to have these corrected. It is envisioned the agreement will be provided to all staff shortly to allow you the opportunity to provide your own feedback on the proposed agreement.
May Shaw Health Services
Bargaining meetings are scheduled every fortnight with parties moving through the Log of Claims (LoC). If you have any questions both the ANMF workplace delegate, and ANMF officials are at the meetings and can provide feedback.

Medea Park
Medea Park executives have informed the ANMF of a successful “yes” vote for the general staff agreement. Application will now be prepared for submission to Fair Work for approval. Once Fair Work approves the agreement it will take effect 7 days post the approval date. The ANMF is still waiting for Medea Park to provide a draft copy of the nurses’ agreement, and to date has not received Medea Parks standing on paying all nurses who provide a handover to the oncoming shift (not just the Registered Nurse (RN)). The ANMF has written to Medea Park again pressing the urgency to have this claim settled so the full offer can be viewed by members before voting can commence.
Aged Care Deloraine
The ANMF has asked again for your employer to provide a draft EA as a matter of urgency. Once we have this to hand, we will be able to provide to members a summary of the offer before moving to an access and voting period.

Baptcare Karingal
Following a successful “yes” vote, Baptcare made application to Fair Work Commission to have the Enterprise Agreement (EA) approved. To date this process is still ongoing. Once ANMF has notice the agreement has been approved, we will inform members.
Meercroft Home for the Aged
The ANMF has been working diligently with Meercroft executives to have the EA finalised, so members can have the opportunity to vote on the proposed agreement. Unfortunately, incidents have occurred, which are outside of the ANMFs control, these have had an impact on being able to have the EA finalised. The ANMF is aware of a recent change to management and is working collaboratively with new management to ensure all wage increases which were due will be passed onto the respective staff. The ANMF is hopeful the bargaining will resume so the EA can be put to vote shortly.

Christian Homes Tasmania
ANMF analysis of management’s offer indicates the first Enterprise Agreement (EA) wage increase would take effect from 1 July 2025, that this could be as low as 2.5%, and that management is proposing significant changes to how nurses advance through the pay points within each classification that would delay advancement for some nurses. Updates are correct as of 1 May 2025.
