ANMF conducted a member meeting in the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Ward 8A – Outpatient Oncology on Thursday 4 April. The Outpatient Oncology service in its capacity as a day-ward has, in recent times, struggled to cope with ever increasing patient numbers and evolving treatment regimens. As such staff were given the opportunity to put forward ideas as to how 8A might increase its capacity via changes to geographical layout, addition of more chair/bed spaces and even a remodelling of staff working hours. ANMF awaits official word of a mooted change proposal in this space and will consult with members again once this has been received.
