Paid Professional Development leave
Most EBAs provide paid Professional Development (PD) leave, letting you attend training or conferences.
Use the email template below to apply for your PD leave.
Feel free to adjust it—just make sure to include the dates, number of days, and the type of CPD activity you’re planning.
You’ll also need to give at least 6 weeks’ notice, though some employers may require 8 weeks for rostering purposes.

What if my Professional Development leave application is rejected?
Your employer must notify you in writing whether your leave request is approved or denied within seven days.
Your application will be approved by your employer unless there’s exceptional circumstances that justify non-approval which must be stated in their communication.
