Update: Work Health & Safety Risk

17 October 2018

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF Tasmanian Branch) attended the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) union consultative meeting on Tuesday 9 October.

The ANMF used this forum to again bring to the attention of the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) the significant Work Health and Safety risk that the current inadequate parking situation places our members in, who are having to walk considerable distances to get to their care afterhours.

The ANMF have requested that the afterhours parking is policed to ensure that it is used by staff and not members of the public as has been reported to us by our members.

The ANMF have also requested that members are provided the opportunity to obtain taxi vouchers to enable them to safely get to their vehicle after their shift.

The THS are going to provide us with a response to this out of session.
