Statewide stop work actions continue in Hobart and Launceston tomorrow!

Tasmanian public sector unions (ANMF, HACSU, CPSU, UFU, United Voice and AEU) commenced statewide stop work action in Burnie today with close to 1,000 people in attendance. This action is to send a message to the Hodgman Government that their current offer is disrespectful to workers.

Stop work actions will continue tomorrow with events in Launceston and Hobart. Members in the north will meet at 9.30am at the Launceston Civic Square, while members in the south will gather from 2.30pm at City Hall in Hobart.

Thousands of public sector workers, including teachers, nurses, fire fighters, health workers and correctional services are expected to turn out to these events to show the Tasmanian Government that enough is enough. Guest speaker Secretary of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, Sally McManus will be in attendance in Hobart to speak to the campaign and the dedication of workers in their fight for fair pay.
