Recent news has revealed that current staffing FTE at Birthrate Plus in the north west will be retained

Update: Birthrate Plus FTE to be retained

The ANMF are pleased to advise that following a period of data collection to support the Birthrate Plus implementation at the North West Integrated Maternity Service (NWIMS) the current staffing FTE will be retained. This confirmation was received from the Director of Operations, Eric Daniels who acknowledged that the models of care are still evolving and there is no intention to reduce staffing numbers.

Following this confirmation, Birthrate Plus at the NWIMS was endorsed at the Statewide Safe Staffing meeting. A project closure report from the Chief Nurse will now go to the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) Executive.

The ANMF will continue to support members working at the NWIMS via consultative committee meetings, Workplace Representatives, and regular site visits. We wish to thank those members working at the site for their efforts during the data collection process and the Birthrate plus implementation.
