Mt St Vincent’s Nursing Home
The ANMF met with Members on 8 November 2019 to discuss Respect managements’ proposed change to the Nursing and Care Workers Staff roster.
The proposed change has resulted in all positions being made ‘spill and fill’ where the a range of positions in a workplace are made redundant and the employees filling those positions must reapply for the smaller number of newly created positions. The ANMF have been informed that redundancies will apply. The ANMF have written to Respect management and requested a meeting for 14 November 2019 to raise Member concerns regarding this proposed change. Updates will be provided to Members as they come to hand.
The ANMF acknowledges the disappointment felt by Members that these changes are being proposed, despite a damning interim report from the current Aged Care Royal Commission detailing reduced staffing perpetuating issues around poor resident care.
