Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Updates

RHH Department of Emergency Medicine
The ANMF will be conducting a Member meeting in RHH Department Emergency Medicine 12 November 2019 at 1500 hours in the Handover Room. During the meeting, the content of the Tasmanian Health Service management’s response letter to the Step 1 Grievance will be reviewed and discussed.  All members are encouraged to attend.

Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit
Following the Member meeting held 30 October 2019, the ANMF have continued to pursue member concerns with Tasmanian Health Services management. The ANMF will continue to relay feedback and any other important information through Workplace Representatives. Should any major developments occur, a follow up member meeting will be held. Details to follow.

Casual Staff Pool
The ANMF held a Member meeting with RHH Casual Pool Staff on 28 October 2019. This meeting was strongly attended, providing members an opportunity to give feedback on the recent Tasmanian Health Service amendments to working hours and conditions. The ANMF continue to follow this issue and will keep members informed of further actions or outcomes as they arise.

RHH Ward 5A – Surgical Specialties/Orthopaedics
The ANMF recently distributed a flyer detailing additional nursing FTE to be made available to Ward 5A immediately, including provisions for ANUM positions and a Clinical Coach. This position was also advertised on the Tasmanian Government Jobs website, with applications now closed.

RHH Ward 3A – Paediatrics
The ANMF conducted a Member meeting on Ward 3A on 4 November 2019 to discuss workload and staffing issues. The ANMF will be notifying members of next steps for the matters raised. Details to follow.

Wellington Centre Outpatient Clinics

The ANMF held a Member meeting in the Level 9 Tea Room of the Wellington Clinics at 1530 hours, 13 November 2019 to discuss workload and staffing concerns of members.
