Statewide ANMF visits

ANMF Member Communication and Engagement Officer Mandy Clark would like to thank all those she has met with in 2019 and wish them a great holiday period and successful 2020.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members and non-members for their hospitality whilst I have been visiting aged care facilities across the state. I have enjoyed the many conversations (some serious, and others not so serious, along with general chatter). It has been a pleasure! I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to resuming my visits in 2020.”

Mt St Vincent’s

The ANMF were recently made aware of redundancy and roster issues concerning members employed at Mt St Vincent’s. These issues relate to a proposed restructure following the Respect Aged Care takeover. ANMF met with members on Friday 8 November to discuss these matters. On 15 November ANMF met with Respect management to raise member concerns and seek clarification. A follow up members meeting was subsequently held on 21 November. Further member meetings will be scheduled along with individual support meetings as the matter progresses. We encourage all members to contact the ANMF if they haven’t already done so. Masonic Care Tasmania

The ANMF have corresponded with Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT) management on two matters over the last fortnight. These matters relate to:

  1. Confirmation of where the enterprise bargaining agreement negotiations are at. MCT were to provide the ANMF with a wage offer following the November MCT Board meeting, this has not occurred. ANMF are currently awaiting a response from management, however this has not occurred. Click here to read newsflash link to see the latest on the MCT offer  Download the print-ready version here.
  2. Nurse members have advised the ANMF that the 15 minute Agreement handover payment has not been made by MCT. ANMF understands that MCT is aware of the problem however to date there has been nothing done to rectify the matter. We have written to MCT requesting details of this underpayment, a response remains outstanding and we will contact members with an update once a response has been received.

Updates correct as at 12 December 2019.
