North West Regional Hospital (NWRH)
Surgical Ward Step 1 Grievance
The ANMF met with members working on the Surgical Ward at NWRH on Thursday 26 November 2019 to discuss workload concerns. Following this, the ANMF met with the NUM to discuss concerns raised by members. The ANMF are waiting on a written response to the Step 1 Grievance, due by 18 December 2019. The ANMF will reschedule a meeting to discuss the progress of the grievance and seek member feedback once a response has been received.
Operating Suite
The ANMF met with members working in the Operating Suite on Friday 29 November 2019 to discuss workload concerns. Members report meal breaks are often interrupted or “short” due to operational requirements. The ANMF have formally written to management outlining the concerns of our members. On receipt of a response from management the ANMF will schedule a meeting to discuss the progress of member concerns.
Medical Ward Step 1 Grievance
The ANMF met with members working on Medical Ward on Tuesday 3 December 2019 to review progress of the previously raised Step 1 Grievance. Members continue to have concerns regarding sustained and excessive workloads. The ANMF will write to Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management on behalf of members and schedule another meeting once a response has been received.
