Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Update

Angiography Suite
The ANMF attended the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) on 4 December 2019. This conference was to discuss the ongoing concerns of members regarding the current excessive on call requirement with the limited number of nurses on the base roster. The ANMF are pleased to report that through the efforts of members the business case has been approved for an additional 4.17FTE of permanent nursing staff. We wish thank members working in the LGH Angiography Suite for their ongoing commitment and advocacy. We look forward to supporting them as we continue to campaign for their previously raised Work Health and Safety concerns arising due to the limited physical space allocated to their service. The ANMF will be attending a member meeting on 19 December 2019. Click here to read the latest newsflash.

Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Induction
The ANMF attended the LGH on 2 December 2019 to welcome Nurses and Midwives to the workplace as part of their orientation process. We look forward to working with these new LGH members throughout 2020.

Ward 4O/4B
On Wednesday 11 October 2019, The ANMF escalated a workload grievance. The grievance, which was originally raised on 9 July 2019, has now seen a formal meeting set between ANMF Officials, Workplace Representatives and THS management. During this meeting, discussions will centre on the original grievance and a collaborative approach toward a positive solution and actionable outcomes. Following this meeting, the ANMF will schedule a member meeting to report back.
