Nurses and Midwives Agreement: Offer Endorsed By Members

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) Tasmanian Branch has today received the repeat ballot results from Elections Australia which closed today, 22 January 2020 at 1200hrs.

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) Tasmanian Branch has today received the repeat ballot results from Elections Australia which closed today, 22 January 2020 at 1200hrs. The ballot results indicate an overwhelming majority of Nurses and Midwives have voted in support of the Tasmanian Government’s Offer for the replacement Public Sector Nurses and Midwives Agreement.

ANMF will now write to the Tasmanian Government to formally accept, on behalf of members, the 17 December 2020 offer. ANMF will also request timeframes on finalisation of the drafting of this agreement and, once complete, ANMF will advise members when the agreement will be registered with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC).

As previously advised, the 2.3% wage rise for the first year of the agreement will include back pay to the first full pay period in December 2019. ANMF anticipate that the wage rise will be passed onto members after the agreement is registered with the TIC and once individual calculations have been completed by the Tasmanian Health Service Payroll. ANMF will seek a commitment from Government on a timeframe for all back pay to be completed, once this date is received, ANMF will advise members.

The ANMF wish to again congratulate all ANMF members for their engagement with this campaign and commend those who took industrial action to secure a deal for Tasmanian Nurses and Midwives which is the best agreement secured since the 2010 Heads of Agreement.
