Newsflash: LGH Acute Medical Unit

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF) have been consulting with the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) North Human Resources and Management regarding a proposal to temporally change the shift start and finish times on the Acute Medical Unit for an interim period during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The member survey regarding the proposed change is now closed and 90.63% of members voted in favour of changing the shift times. The ANMF will now write to THS management confirming key matters around the temporary nature of this change and will update members of any developments as they come to hand.

The ANMF would like to reiterate that if you have special needs (for example, childcare arrangements) that would preclude you moving to the proposed new shift start times, could you please contact your Nurse Unit Manager to discuss this in the first instance. It is our understanding that current special circumstances will continue to be maintained.

The ANMF will continue to advocate for members during this difficult time, with further updates and advice provided as they come to hand. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact our Member Support Team via membersupport@anmftas.org.au or for urgent matters phone 1800 001 241. Please note that due to the current COVID-19 situation, our Member Support Team are now practicing social isolation measures and working from home. Bearing this in mind, email is the preferred and fastest way of contacting them.
