North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) updates
COVID-19 Response
The ANMF have been in regular contact with workplace representatives, members and Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management to providing information and support surrounding COVID-19 concerns including PPE, communication, accommodation, education and leave entitlements.
The ANMF will continue to support and advocate on behalf of members working in the challenging environment caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. The sudden closure of the NWRH, and subsequent self-isolation of members and their families, has created new challenges for all. Emergency Department
The ANMF met with members working In the Emergency Department (ED) on 17 December 2019 to discuss professional and industrial issues. Members reported that the trial of increased staffing levels has eased excessive workloads. A survey has been circulated to members for completion in order to determine if the trial should be extended. Please note that due to COVID-19 the ED is currently closed.

Mersey Community Hospital Medical Ward
The ANMF attended a report back conference with Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management at the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC). The ANMF will hold further conversations with THS management prior to a report back conference with the Commission scheduled for 5 May 2020.
Mersey Leven Community Nursing Workload Grievance Step 1
The ANMF sought feedback from members on 7 April 2020 to review the steps taken by the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) to resolve the Grievance. Members note that THS have committed to assist in the development of an approved staffing model for Community Nursing. Given the progress towards a resolution, members unanimously endorsed that the ANMF maintain the Step 1 Grievance.
