Government response to family violence
In response to family violence during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tasmanian Government has funded ‘Flexible Support Packages’ for victim-survivors.
Updated resources for healthcare workers, providers, and services who are supporting and referring family violence victims will be released in June 2020. A current guide detailing screening, signs of violence, specialist services providing information, and support can be read here.
Free online training for healthcare workers responding family violence can be accessed by clicking here. This training is beneficial to all healthcare workers in Tasmania, particularly those who do not typically respond to family violence in the everyday scope of their role.
