North West Regional Hospital Operating Room Suite

The ANMF attended a follow up benchmarking meeting with Tasmanian Health Service management regarding the North West Regional Hospital Operating Room Suite on 13 August 2020. This meeting was to facilitate any concerns with the previously presented benchmarking. The ANMF note that the presented benchmarking appears to be in line with Australian College of Operating Room Nurses Standards. There will be a meeting with staff and the ANMF on 26 August 2020 to relay the outcomes of benchmarking to the broader ANMF membership. The ANMF look forward to discussing this with members at this meeting and taking further direction from them.

King Island

The ANMF conducted a member meeting with our members on King Island via video conferencing on 5 August 2020. This meeting was to discuss any professional and Industrial concerns. The ANMF note that members raised concerns with regard to general workload issues with discussions indicating that in the first instance members should raise concerns with management. The ANMF acknowledge the challenges of staffing in remote sites, and the additional workload that the COVID-19 screening has on their already busy workloads. The ANMF will communicate with members as to the direction moving forward with the concerns raised.

Updates correct as at 20 August 2020.
