Aged Care statewide updates

Bupa South Hobart

Southern Cross Care are taking over the Bupa site on 1 December 2020. The ANMF will visit members at South Hobart on Friday 30 October to discuss the change. At this point, Southern Cross Care have committed to honour all staff contracts as they stand. We are awaiting formal correspondence about this change and will update members once this has been received.

Huon Regional Care

Following a visit to Dover on 14 October, the ANMF have agreed to attend a staff meeting in coming weeks to work with members and the new acting Facility Manager toward clarifying a number of issues, including the enrolled nurse role, recent management changes, the roster, checking of scheduled medications, and staffing structure.

Regis – Legana

The ANMF received correspondence from Regis management in September 2020, advising that they would be pursuing overpayments made in regards to staff who were mistakenly paid Public Holiday Penalties for the Launceston Cup Public Holiday on 26 February 2020 and staff who were mistakenly paid a higher laundry allowance than they were entitled to receive in the pay run period ending 12 July 2020. Additionally, a series of underpayments were made with regards to staff not receiving Annual Leave Loading on Additional Weekend Leave. Letters have been sent out to staff as a result of this. We encourage any member who may have questions about this matter to contact our Member Support Team here.

Updates correct as at 29 October 2020.
