Mistral Place/ Millbrook Rise/ Tolosa Street/ Roy Fagan Centre
The ANMF contacted Mental Health Services management about the progress of a matter regarding 12 hour shifts and meal break payment as per the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award. It is the view of ANMF that 12-hour nursing shift workers are entitled to paid meal breaks and a 12-hour shift penalty as is stated in the Award. Workers at Mistral Place/ Millbrook Rise/ Tolosa Street/ Roy Fagan Centre qualify for this payment. The ANMF were advised by Mental Health Services management via email on 9 November 2020 that Mental Health Services management are discussing ‘projected costings’ and looking at ‘potential ways forward’. A ‘options paper’ is being sent to senior staff to identify a preferred course of action. The ANMF will continue to seek regular updates on the progress of this work and will lead movement on this matter until it is resolved.
Updates correct as at 26 November 2020.
