Healthscope Mother and Baby Unit

ANMF met with members of the Mother and Baby Unit on Monday 23 November. Members have some concerns about the future of the unit. ANMF were able to get some reassurance for members from management and a meeting has been scheduled for 3 December at 3pm to allow members to ask any further questions. ANMF will be in attendance.

Healthscope Enterprise Bargaining Agreement Theatre Nurses

ANMF held an offsite meeting at the request of members on Tuesday 24 November. A great turnout confirmed the overall view members have of the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) process as expressed through the recent survey.

The next meeting scheduled for 24 November was cancelled at late notice. This will give ANMF and members further opportunity to discuss an appropriate response to Healthscope in the coming weeks.

Calvary St Vincent’s and St Luke’s

The ANMF met with Calvary Health Care Tasmania for their workload committee meeting. In this meeting, Calvary Health Care Tasmania indicated that they have not received workload complaint forms from staff. The ANMF actively encourages members to notify management via the appropriate channels when there are workload concerns. Calvary Health Care Tasmania has indicated this is by way of their workload form, which members have indicated are labour intensive. The ANMF will ask Calvary Health Care Tasmania to redraft their forms, however, encourages members to continue using the current forms in the interim to reflect nurse shortages and unreasonable workloads.

HealtheCare North West Private Hospital

ANMF officials met with members working at the North West Private Hospital on 27 October to discuss workload concerns. The ANMF have now written to management seeking clarity regarding the application of the Nursing Hours per Patient Day workload tool. On receipt of a response from management ANMF will schedule a meeting with members to discuss the progress of their concerns. The ANMF will continue to support and advocate on behalf of members working at the North West Private Hospital. To read the latest communication sent to members, click here.
