The ANMF attended a Step 2 Grievance Specialist Panel meeting with Tasmanian Health Service representatives on Tuesday 24 November to discuss the ongoing Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) dispute in the Royal Hobart Hospital Ward 9A. These discussions were productive with Tasmanian Health Service set to advise a final position within 1 week, following which the ANMF will meet with members to seek direction on any further courses of action.

Main Theatres

The ANMF lodged a Step 1 Grievance letter with the Tasmanian Health Service dated 2 November 2020 on behalf of members working in Main Theatres. Originally the deadline for response was Wednesday 18 November, however following a Tasmanian Health Service request, this date was extended to Friday 20 November. Regrettably, as of COB Tuesday 24 November no reply has been forthcoming. The ANMF have sought to arrange an urgent member meeting to take feedback from members as to how best to proceed with the Grievance process and will advise members once the date and time of this meeting is finalised.

As a result, the ANMF will be attending a Workload Monitoring committee meeting on 17 December with Tasmanian Health Service representatives to effectively re-benchmark the unit. The ANMF are happy to share these positive outcomes with members and look forward to continued collaboration in anticipation of the December forum.
