Member Communications and Engagement Update
Our ANMF Member Communications and Engagement Officer in the South, Mandy, visited several aged care facilities over the past weeks, including Southern Cross Care’s Fairway Rise, Guilford Young Grove, and Sandown Village facilities, Uniting AgeWell Ningana and Queenborough Rise sites, Glenview’s Karongee Village, Huon Regional Care Nubeena, and Menarock Life The Gardens. During these visits, Mandy was able to discuss workload matters with members, and have a more general catch-up. There seems to be a common issue across the aged care sector, with staff feeling overworked and struggling to ensure that all aspects of care are completed within the current care hours. The ANMF will continue to advocate for our aged care members both locally and Federally on a site-by-site basis as well as more broadly through our Aged Care Campaign and the Royal Commission findings.
Updates correct as at 17 March 2021.
