Public Sector Updates – North

Launceston General Hospital

On Monday 25 May 2021, the ANMF met with Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management to discuss the current step one workload grievance. The ANMF detailed current data, as supplied by members completing workload surveys, that demonstrated workloads from the original grievance of December 2020 remain. As a result, the ANMF have written to THS management commencing a Step 2 Grievance and requesting that this grievance be heard in conjunction with the proposed benchmarking process for 2021. The benchmarking meeting will be held on 31 May 2021. Further updates to follow this meeting.

Emergency Department

On Thursday 20 May 2021, the ANMF attended the North/North West Joint Consultative Committee, between unions and THS management, and raised convening of a working group  to oversee the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the 21.3FTE. HR advised the ANMF that the recruitment process will commence shortly and that in conjunction with this, dates for the working group will be established. The ANMF will correspond with THS to confirm these dates and provide further updates to members at this time.

Ward 5B

The ANMF have scheduled a meeting with the Ward 5B NUM to discuss members concerns regarding workload and solutions prior to raising a Step 1 Workload grievance. Following this meeting the ANMF will provide further updates to members regarding the grievance process.

Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) North

The ANMF has received information from members regarding excess workloads across CHaPS North. The ANMF is in the process of scheduling a meeting with members. A meeting notice will be circulated shortly. Further, the ANMF has been advised about members concerns regarding Grade 4 attainment and ongoing maintenance. The ANMF will also discuss this matter at the members meeting and will provide clarification to CHaPs management on the issues.

Mental Health North

Northside

Following a meeting with members on 3 May 2021, the ANMF have now written to Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management raising a step one grievance. The ANMF has provided a date to THS for a meeting to discuss the grievance. Further updates will be provided to members at the conclusion of this meeting.
