Public Sector Updates – North West

North West Regional Hospital

North West Renal Unit

The ANMF surveyed members at the North West Renal Unit. Members have endorsed the ANMF to escalate the matter to a Step 1 Grievance. A formal notification to Tasmanian Health Service (THS) is in process and members will be kept up to date.

Operating Theatres

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) (Tasmanian Branch)  surveyed members at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) operating theatre. Members have endorsed the ANMF to raise the matter to a Step 1 Grievance. Formal notification to THS is in progress and members will be kept up to date.

Paediatric Ward

ANMF officials and Workplace Representatives recently attended a Step 2 Grievance working party meetings on behalf of members. A number of solutions to address workload concerns were discussed. Click here to view the full update.

Surgical Ward

On 17 May 2021, ANMF members from the NWRH Surgical Ward attended a member meeting to raise professional and industrial concerns including safe staffing and skill mix. Formal notification has been sent to management and a response is expected on 28 May. A further member meeting will be held once the response has been reviewed. Click here to view the full update.

Medical Ward

On 13 May 2021, ANMF officials met with members on Medical ward to review progress of the Step 2 grievance and requested that the working party be reconvened. The next meeting will be held on the 9 June. Members are reminded that representatives can be invited to attend these meetings.
