Public Sector Updates – North

Launceston General Hospital

Holman Clinic

The ANMF met with THS management regarding the ongoing trial of the clinical support model. The ANMF will now seek feedback from members regarding the trial and any ongoing measures that might be required prior to closing out the matter with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission.

Operating Room Suite

The ANMF met with THS management on Wednesday 9 June for the Step 2 Specialist Panel. At this meeting the ANMF sought recommendations that would secure safe and manageable workloads along with a process to monitor theatre schedules. Further updates to follow.

Northside

Following a meeting with members on 3 May 2021, the ANMF have now written to THS management raising a step one grievance. The ANMF is now waiting on the Mental Health Services (MHS) response. Further to the workload grievance the ANMF has written to MHS management raising concerns with the proposed closure of Northside and lack of consultation regarding this. A response was yet to be received at the time of print. Further updates to follow.

Ward 5B

The ANMF has met with the ward 5B Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to discuss members concerns regarding workloads and possible solutions prior to raising a Step 1 Workload grievance. The ANMF will schedule a time with members to report back on this discussion and seek further directions from members.

Emergency Department

The ANMF has written to MHS management raising concerns with lack of consultation around the proposed closure of Northside. A response was yet to be received at the time of print. Further updates to follow.
