Private Sector Updates – Statewide

Healthscope

The ANMF has been advised that the EA ballot vote was unsuccessful. Organisers will be visiting Hobart Private and St Helen’s to seek member feedback for the reasons for rejecting the proposed agreement. The ANMF will be asking if members want to commence industrial action. This will be by a protected action ballot. If the majority of members want to commence action, then all members will need to send their vote back for it to count. 50% need to send their ballot back or it will be unsuccessful as in the previous 2 protected action ballots.

As members are aware the Agreement which had been lodged with the Fair Work Commission some months back was not approved by the Commission.  The parties have been discussing a resolution to the concerns raised and a new draft has been produced. The employer is holding information sessions for staff across the State and a ballot will open from 13 July 2021.

Updates correct as at 8 July 2021.
