Public Sector Updates – North West

North West Regional Hospital

Operating Theatres

The ANMF has received a response to the Step 1 Workload Grievance in the Operating Suite. A review will be undertaken after which a member meeting will be held to seek feedback and future direction.

Surgical Ward – Step 1 Grievance

The ANMF surgical ward member meeting was held on 28 June to review progress and provide feedback from the working party. Further member meetings will be convened once the benchmarking data for 2020/2021 year is available.

Medical Ward

ANMF officials and Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management met with members on 21 June to discuss the progress of the Step 2 Grievance. Further feedback will be provided in the coming weeks.

Paediatric Unit

Meetings continue to address workload concerns and progress resolution for members from NWRH paediatric unit. An ANMF member meeting was held on 5 July with the working party meeting scheduled for 8 July. Members are encouraged to attend and have their say.

SMHS Spencer Clinic

The ANMF Spencer Clinic members raised a serious safety concern. The ANMF Secretary Emily Shepherd is pleased to report that advocating on behalf of member with the Deputy Secretary of Community Mental Health has resulted in an agreed safety plan for members. Details will be available at your workplace.

In addition, the ANMF has received a written response to the workload concerns raised on 23 June 2021. ANMF can confirm Spencer Clinic will return to 19 beds once Northside reopens. The ANMF will review the response in detail and then schedule a member meeting with Spencer Clinic members to update progress and determine next steps. Click here to view the latest update.
