Public Sector Updates – North West

North West Regional Hospital

Operating Theatres

The ANMF has received  a response to the Step 1 workload Grievance in the Operating Suite. The ANMF awaits confirmation of a meeting date where proposed solutions to the grievance, along with staffing models inclusive of benchmarking will be presented. Click here to view the latest update.

Paediatric Unit

Meetings continue to address workload concerns and progress resolution for members from NWRH paediatric unit. The next working party meeting is scheduled for 29 July 2021. Members are encouraged to provide feedback to their Workplace Representative who attends the meetings along with ANMF officials.

Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF, THS management and ED nurses attended a benchmarking meeting on Thursday 22 July where the data for a full year to June 2021 was presented.

Surgical Ward – Step 1 Grievance

The ANMF officials met with Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management as part of a working party to discuss member concerns. Member representatives will be invited to attend once a date has been set, should you wish to receive an invite please email annette.beechey@anmftas.org.au

Medical Ward – Step 2 Grievance

West Coast District Hospital

The ANMF has received a response to the Step 1 Workload Grievance at West Coast District Hospital. ANMF officials met with Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management on 20 July to proactively discuss members concerns. A member meeting will be scheduled in the following weeks to seek feedback and future direction.

Mersey Community Hospital Medical Ward AIN Trial

At the AIN Trial Working Party on 5 July new parameters were tentatively proposed by THS management. ANMF members feedback will be sought as soon as the updated parameters are available.

SMHS Spencer Clinic

The ANMF met with Spencer Clinic members on 14 July and will raise a Step 1 Grievance on behalf of members. Members will be kept informed of progress with further member meetings to be held in coming weeks. Click here to view the latest update.

SCC Yaraandoo

The ANMF on behalf of members raised with SCC management workload and patient safety concerns on 25 June. To date SCC have not provided a response to member concerns. The ANMF will continue to support and advocate on behalf of our members working at SCC Yaraandoo.
