Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Maternity Unit (K7)

The ANMF conducted a member meeting in K7 Monday on 26 July to relay progress of the current Step Three Grievance in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC). Several pertinent questions were raised for consideration, and the ANMF reiterated to members that the TIC conference is due to resume on Wednesday 4 August. An email will be distributed as soon as possible following this session to advise any/all outcomes with another member meeting to be urgently arranged to provide outcomes.

Neonatal Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (NPICU)

The ANMF conducted a member meeting in the RHH NPICU on Thursday 29 July to obtain member feedback regarding ongoing workload and staffing concerns as well as to provide an update to the current Step One Grievance procedure. The ANMF anticipates a response to formal correspondence sent to the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) on Friday 30 July. An email will be sent to members to notify of major outcomes/developments and a follow-up member meeting will be booked.

Outpatient Oncology Unit (8A)

The ANMF has received an invitation to a Step Two Grievance Specialist Panel meeting for Monday 9 August at 1500hrs. It is anticipated that this forum will provide an opportunity for ongoing workload and staffing concerns to be raised, discussed and hopefully resolved. The ANMF will seek to confer with members as soon as possible following this meeting to advise progress and/or outcomes. The ANMF has written to THS Management seeking to confirm a date/time for this to occur.

Main Theatres

The ANMF has written to THS Management to make enquiries as to the progress of the outstanding Step Two Grievance in RHH Main Theatres, and specifically the development of the Australian College of Perioperative Nurses (ACORN) standards underpinned E-Tool for staff profiling and quantification. The ANMF will endeavour to have a meeting arranged to seek substantial updates on this matter and will arrange a member meeting as soon as possible and seek resolution on the progression of the Grievance.

Updates correct as at 5 August 2021.
