Healthscope

Healthscope and the ANMF met on 5 August 2021. The ANMF brought member concerns of workloads to the table, as they have been doing since negotiations began. Healthscope stated:

  • Healthscope’s Board are considering taking back pay off the table following the recent no vote
  • Recruitment is an ongoing challenge
  • Workload issues can be escalated through the Workload Consultative Committee
  • No improvement will be made to the current offer and the only possible alternative would be an additional year to the agreement with a pay rise likely only to be between 2-3%

The ANMF replied:

  • The ANMF has fought hard to keep backpay on the table which Healthscope were trying to remove. The ANMF advocated passionately to keep members back pay and to prevent any removal of improvements from the current conditions on offer
  • The ANMF lobbied for night shift staffing to be a key priority in the first Workload Consultative Committee to address member workloads
  • The ANMF supported all measures to recruit as many nursing and midwifery staff as possible to aid in improving members workloads

The ANMF is currently waiting for a formal reply from this meeting.

Due to the current Public Health Directive the ANMF is not being given access by Healthscope to visit members. Please email our member support team.

Family Planning Tasmania

The ANMF’s Log of Claims (LOC) was endorsed by members at Family Planning Tasmania (FPT).  FPT has a board meeting on 16 August 2021 and will be looking to commence bargaining after this.

Bruny Island Health Centre

The ANMF met with members on Thursday 5 August 2021 who are concerned about the presence of a paramedic being introduced into the Health Centre as support for the volunteer ambulance crew on the island. This was thought to be temporary, but members are concerned there is no end date. Members are concerned that they may lose nursing hours particularly in the on-call roster.  The ANMF is following up on members concerns.

South Eastern Community Nursing

The ANMF met with members from South Eastern Community Nursing on Wednesday 11 August 2021. Members have described how their workloads have increased and the boundary for their catchment area has grown with no increase in staffing. Members also indicated that six afternoon shifts are vacant at the moment putting increased pressure on the nurses to fit more clients into a shorter time frame. The ANMF is following up on member concerns.
