Launceston General Hospital (LGH)

Emergency Department (ED) Transfer of Care Procedure

The ANMF will be meeting with Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Emergency Department (ED) members to discuss the now amended Transfer of Care (TOC) Procedure and subsequent processes. In the last fortnight the ANMF has viewed the Emergency Department with members and gained an understanding of several work health safety issues, further advice has been given to the ANMF on proposed additional patient spaces that would appear to be unsafe and further, not appropriately staffed. The ANMF at the meeting will consider raising a workload grievance as well as discussing a work health safety plan. This meeting will include a discussion with members around the potential for raising a workload grievance as well as a work health and safety plan. Further updates to follow.

Northside Clinic

The ANMF will be meeting with Northside Clinic members on Tuesday 23 April 2024 to discuss the Mental Health Service (MHS) plan to move to a ratio model. The ANMF is interested to hear from members on what the current staffing looks like at Northside and how the ratio proposal will look.

Ward 6D

The ANMF will be attending the LGH Ward 6D benchmarking meeting on Monday 22 April 2024. Following this meeting the ANMF will schedule a member meeting with LGH Ward 6D to discuss the 2024 benchmark and nursing Full Time Equivalent (FTE) implications. Further updates to follow.

Acute Medical Unit

The ANMF will be attending the LGH Acute Medical Unit (AMU) benchmarking meeting on Tuesday 30 April 2024. Following this meeting the ANMF will schedule a member meeting with AMU to discuss the 2024 benchmark and nursing FTE implications. Further updates to follow.
