Aged Care Updates – Statewide

Southern Cross Care (SCC)

The ANMF received a request from your employer to pause discussions for a new Enterprise Agreement, anticipating that discussions would recommence in, or around, February 2022. The ANMF surveyed members, the majority of whom indicated they would be willing to delay negotiations provided that they received a 2% wage increase as of October 2021.  Members also noted that this would mean paid meal breaks would remain for the time being.

In response to this Counter Proposal the employer has now indicated that they are able to work through the draft EA to resolve concerns raised by the ANMF, they would give a 2% increase (as requested) with a following 1.5% increase in October of 2022 and 2023.  While we are yet to see a draft agreement, the employer has made it quite clear during discussions, that is their intention paid meal breaks for clinical staff will end.

Before we reply to the changed position of the employer, the ANMF are sending a survey out to members to seek their view.
