Aged Care Updates – Statewide

Christian Homes

The ANMF is awaiting a future Enterprise Bargaining meeting to be scheduled, to obtain Christen Homes response to our members acceptance of their offer. The ANMF will send any further updates to members via the usual systems.

Respect, Wellington Views

The ANMF is currently waiting on further information and a meeting date from Respect management to follow up members concerns.

Korongee Village

The ANMF met with members and management at Korongee on 13 September 2021 and discussed member concerns about workloads and staffing. Glenview are recruiting and have adjusted their staffing model to accommodate the ever-increasing occupancy at Korongee Village. The ANMF will visit again soon to follow up progress with this on members behalf.

UAW Ningana, Sorell

The ANMF will meet again with Extended Care Assistant (ECA) members today at 1300hrs to follow up from the previous meeting. The ANMF met with all members on 28 September 2021 and discussed the Paid Meal Break issue.

Other Private and Tasmanian Health Service (THS) sites

Eastern Shore Community Nursing

The ANMF has sent correspondence on behalf of members to the Nurse Director to escalate the ongoing workloads issue to a Step 2 Grievance. Keep an eye out for updates soon.

New Norfolk District Hospital

The ANMF met with members on Monday 13 September 2021 regarding Safe Staffing Model roll out, and workload issues. The ANMF will take the member feedback to THS meeting regarding Safe Staffing Model.

Japara Sandhill

The ANMF met with members at Japara Sandhill regarding the medication trolleys, Work Health and Safety (WHS) complaints regarding behaviour management of certain residents, workload and safe staffing (particularly on Night Duty Shifts). Feedback from this meeting will be relayed to Japara.

Masonic Care Tasmania – Fred French

The ANMF met with members at Masonic Care Tasmania to resolve workload concerns raised by members. Management at MCT have confirmed they will be proposing to executive to continue to extend the St John’s carer hours (700-1500hrs) at no loss of hours to the upstairs residential areas (Elphin and Punchbowl). The ANMF will seek confirmation from members that this has transpired.

Medea Park

The ANMF met with members from Medea Park on 28 September 2021. The ANMF has received confirmation that Medea Park has applied the 1 July 2020 wage increase discussed in past Enterprise Agreement bargaining. We are seeking confirmation of when this wage increase was applied.

May Shaw Scottsdale (Aminya)

The ANMF will meet with management to explore resolution to members’ concerns regarding workload, carer wage increase backpay and registered nurse night duty allowance backpay.
