Public Sector Updates – North West

North West Regional Hospital (NWRH)

Paediatric Unit

ANMF members formally endorsed the business case in lieu of benchmarking that supports an increase in nursing full time equivalents (FTE) for the Paediatric Unit. The working group will continue to meet monthly to monitor progress. The next meeting date is October 28 2021. Click here for more information.

Operating Theatres

The ANMF has received a copy of the benchmarking data and proposed staffing model. A member meeting was held on 13 October 2021 at 1200hrs.

Medical Ward – Step 2 Grievance

The ANMF has received a copy of the proposed benchmarking for the Medical ward. A member meeting was held on 12 October 2021 to seek member feedback.

SMHS Spencer Clinic

Step 2 Grievance

The ANMF has followed endorsement from members to raise a Step 2 Workload Grievance in line with the Tasmanian State Service Interim Agreement 2013, Appendix C. The concerns raised related to ongoing sustained and unreasonable workloads, access to educator and skill mix. The ANMF has requested a specialist panel is convened to discuss the concerns raised and work towards a resolution that will see members current workload pressures resolved. North West Maternity Services

The ANMF met with members from North West Maternity Services on 9 August 2021 regarding a change proposal. The ANMF has been advised by the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) that the proposed changes will not go ahead at this time.

West Coast District Hospital

Step 2 Grievance

The ANMF has requested a specialist panel to be convened to discuss the concerns raised and work towards a resolution that will see members current workload pressures resolved. Once a date has been confirmed the ANMF will advise members.
