Staff profile: Jane Pond, Southern Organiser

Jane started nursing when she was 18 years old and says she’s the “old hospital trained nurse style!”.

Jane trained in London where she first worked in a female orthopaedics ward, with an overflow of other surgical patients. From there, she moved and worked on night shift in a busy hospital on various wards as needed.

She then moved to Australia, worked in elderly rehab, and then had a 4-year break having children. She restarted her career and worked in a variety of areas including day surgery and the Operating Theatre before finally settling in Tasmania. Jane had been an ANMF Workplace Representative for 9 years and was elected to Branch Council before coming to work at the ANMF in Jan 2021.
