Staff profile: Shane Rickerby, ANMF Senior Organiser
Today’s health systems are made of skilled, multi generational, and culturally diverse work forces, and you all share a common goal. That goal is to provide the best patient care experience in a positive work environment and the best way to accomplish that goal is with teamwork. This is the focus of our new campaign, #OnYourTeam
Shane is the ANMF’s Senior Organiser based in the North of the state. He commenced a Bachelor of Nursing at RMIT’s satellite campus at Sale in country Victoria in 2001. In his first year at University, Shane joined as a student member of the ANMF Victorian Branch. In 2004 he commenced his Graduate year at Central Gippsland Health Service. From there he completed 6 months in Emergency and then 6 months in a medical ward before picking up a permanent position in Emergency (ED). “My advice to students is that you are never ‘just a nurse’. You have joined a profession that offers a great opportunity to make a difference in so many varied settings.”
Updates correct as at 5 November 2021.
