Holman Clinic

On 10 November 2021, the ANMF attended the second benchmarking meeting for Holman Clinic and consultation regarding matters raised and current in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) from November 2020. At the meeting the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) has confirmed an additional Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) position for 6 months from December 2021, that at present the increase in Full Time Equivalent (FTE), from the current data, only shows an increase of 0.25 FTE. As a result, training is to occur on documentation to improve data capture and collection and that from this a review of benchmarking will occur in 6 months, or earlier if required, to ensure the correct workload activity is accurately captured. The ANMF is scheduling a member meeting for 23 November 2021 to discuss the above matters and to seek members endorsement for the benchmark proposal and resolution of the matter with the TIC.

Emergency Department

On 9 October 2021, ANMF officials attended a report back with the TIC. Parties discussed a joint communication that will detail matters related to the use of the 21.3 FTE for Clinical Coaches and another role (initially proposed as a nurse navigator) which is yet to be determined via further consultation with members. There will be a continuation of the Emergency Department (ED) patient flow meeting to find solutions to access and flow. A review of recent SRLS data which can be used to facilitate solutions to access and flow and Work Health and Safety (WHS) matters. Facilitation of the ANMF to provide details on WHS concerns which will feed into a further WHS audit. The ANMF will provide a full update via email shortly. The next report back meeting with the TIC is scheduled for 22 November 2021.

Ward 3R, Ward 4D and NCCU Change Proposal for COVID Preparedness

On 4 November 2021 the ANMF received a change proposal for THS North regarding COVID-19 preparedness and the proposal to temporarily relocate Ward 3R to Ward 4D utilising 21 beds co-located with NCCU and 4D to Ward 3R as a 26 Bed general medical ward. The ANMF is in the process of arranging a member meeting to discuss this proposed change and any concerns that members might have. Meeting details will be provided shortly.
