Private Sector Updates – Statewide

Calvary North

Workload

The workload data collected late last year has now been finalised in a report to Calvary. The data will be discussed at the upcoming Clinical Consultative Workload meeting on Thursday 20 January 2022. Fit Testing for N95 Masks – the ANMF has made a complaint to Work Safe Tasmania (WST) regarding the lack of fit testing available for nurses in theatre at Calvary. WST will now investigate this matter further.

North West Private Hospital (NWPH)

Huon Ward Grievance

The ANMF met with NWPH management on Wednesday 12 January 2022 to clarify answers to the points raised in the grievance. The ANMF will organise a feedback meeting with members and seek further direction as soon as possible. Keep an eye out for an email.

Enterprise Bargaining

The ANMF is currently drafting a Log of Claim (LoC) on behalf of members at NWPH. Member Meetings to seek endorsement will be held in the coming weeks.

Hobart Private and St Helen’s Private Hospitals

The ANMF has notified the Healthscope negotiating team that from the recent ANMF survey, 80% of members participated directed the ANMF to offer support for the agreement to go to ballot. We have requested that Healthscope prepare the ballot early in the New Year so that the proposed pay rises and backpay can be passed on to members.  The ANMF is unable to visit onsite due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The ANMF has written to management regarding the preparedness Healthscope has for the current Omicron variant of COVID-19. This would include details of the outbreak management plan they have in place to keep staff and patients safe, and the plan for staff should they need to be tested and isolate. Calvary COVID Concerns

The ANMF has received concerns from members across Calvary sites in the South and North regarding Calvary’s preparedness for the current situation regarding the COVID-19 Omicron variant. The ANMF has not received a satisfactory reply from Calvary and has now referred the matter to Work Safe Tasmania. We will continue to encourage members to contact our Member Support Team via email at membersupport@anmftas.org.au if you have any concerns.

TasIVF/Hobart Specialist Day Hospital (HSDH)

The ANMF is awaiting to hear from TasIVF following the Christmas break regarding the continuation of Enterprise Agreement negotiations. Members are considering a 2% per annum wage increase over a shortened period of a 2-year agreement. Advancement to level 2 is still under discussion.

Family Planning Tasmania – Statewide

An application for approval of the Family Planning Tasmania Enterprise Agreement 2021 has been lodged with Fair Work. The ANMF is writing to management regarding the preparedness they have for the current Omicron variant of COVID-19. This would include details of the outbreak management plan they have in place to keep staff and patients safe, and the plan for staff should they need to be tested and isolate.
