ANMF Newsflash: Calvary

COVID-19 Escalation Trigger Point 3
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF) has been in contact with Calvary regarding this issue in particular with concerns over mask Fit testing for staff.

Calvary indicated that they have proactively implemented a Fit Testing program, however, they did not comment on several of the ANMFs suggestions to minimise the risk to staff until testing is completed. As we have made multiple attempts to resolve the matter with Calvary directly (to no avail), the ANMF has referred Calvary Health Care Tasmania to Work Safe Tasmania for their investigation into the issue. Members will continue to be updated.

Workloads
Workloads remain a concern at Calvary. Members are reminded to talk to their managers in the first instance with workload concerns and complete an internal Calvary workload form. The next Workload Consultative Committee meeting will be on February 9, 2022 at 14.30-15.30 hrs. Please contact the ANMF if you would like to attend this meeting to discuss workload issues when the ANMF is present. Member involvement is vital to make Calvary accountable for the workload pressure they put members under every day. Members are also encouraged to submit an ANMF Workload survey form to allow us to gather data to present to Calvary at this meeting or in correspondence.
