Public Sector Updates – North

Launceston General Hospital (LGH)

Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF is seeking member feedback on the current progress of the ANMF representation of member concerns at the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) in relation to bed block and workloads at the LGH ED – specifically in the context of solutions and progress gained post the opening of borders and the evolving challenges presented by COVID-19. To attain this feedback, the ANMF will be conducting a member survey. Click here to access the survey.

Further, at the time of print, the ANMF was scheduled to attend the ED to oversee a Work Health Safety Audit of the department. Further details on the result of the audit will be provided at a later date.

General

The ANMF is scheduling key meetings across the LGH to meet with members to discuss current workloads in the context of the Agreement workload tool of Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD). The ANMF will be reflecting data supplied by the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) in relation to NHpPD and seeking member feedback. These meetings will also provide an opportunity to engage with ANMF officials regarding any other concerns that members may have. This will form part of our first ANMF Roadshow for the year and is a great opportunity for members to meet with us to discuss all matters nursing, industrial and professional related.

Updates correct as at 17 February 2022.
