Private Sector Updates – Statewide

Calvary South

Lenah Valley Endoscopy Unit

Calvary is continuing to inform the ANMF regarding the current situation on the Endoscopy Unit at Lenah Valley Hospital. We are told they have processes in place to address the shortage of staff and lack of senior staff on the unit. If members have any concerns regarding the Unit, please contact our Member Support Team via email at membersupport@anmftas.org.au

Lenah Valley Emergency Department

The ANMF has been informed that the Emergency Department will be closed every Friday from 4pm and opening on Monday at 7.30am until further notice.  It is understood that a triage nurse will remain on site during the hours of closure. Calvary has assured the ANMF that consultation has been constructive with some nurses indicating a willingness to redeploy to an area of interest as an opportunity to upskill. There have also been suggestions from nurses to utilise the weekend shift to ensure the department is clean and tidy and/or undertaking mandatory or professional education.

If members have concerns over the rostering options proposed by Calvary or any other issues, please contact our Member Support Team at membersupport@anmftas.org.au

Calvary St John’s and Lenah Valley Campuses

The next Workload Consultative Committee (WCC) meeting will be held on Wednesday 6 April from 1430-1530hrs. Members are encouraged to attend and be involved in the discussion around workload issues which have occurred since the last meeting. There will be a focus on St John’s Theatre and Lenah Valley 1st East Medical so representatives from those areas would be particularly appreciated although all would be welcome.

The ANMF reminds members to complete an internal workload form for any workload issues. If any members would like to attend, please contact our Southern Organiser Jane Pond via email at jane.pond@anmftas.org.au
