Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Acute Older Person’s Unit – Ward 5A

The ANMF has scheduled a member meeting in Ward 5A on Friday 1 April 2022, between 1500-1530hrs in the Meeting Room. All members are invited to attend to discuss current nursing conditions/considerations within the unit in the context of the recent move from 2J and ongoing efforts to increase bed numbers.

Clinical Trials (Oncology/Haematology)

The ANMF conducted a member meeting on Wednesday 23 March 2022 in RHH – Clinical Trials Unit – to collate feedback as to the current issues with workloads/staffing. As a result of these discussions, the ANMF will be writing to Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management on members’ behalf and will relay all relevant correspondence via emails once sent/received. Following this action, another member meeting will be scheduled as soon as practicable to review and decide on potential further action.

Statewide Mental Health Service (SMHS) – Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU)

The ANMF has written on behalf of members working in the RHH Mental Health Inpatient Unit to SMHS management regarding identified concerns submitted at the member meeting conducted Friday 18 March 2022. Once received, a summary of the correspondence will be distributed to members for their consideration and, if required, a subsequent member meeting will be convened.
