Aged Care Updates – Statewide

Southern Cross Care Tasmania (SCCT)

Underpayments Issue

SCCT is close to finalising matters in relation to underpayment. An internal memo and communication will be circulated shortly. The ANMF is pressing SCCT to structure any payments in a way that will minimise members taxation burden.

ANMF COVID-19

Safety complaints are being heard and actioned. Worksafe Tasmania is still working through ANMF correspondence regarding management failure to help staff activate their COVID-19 response.

The ANMF still encourages members to feedback issues related to absence or instability of leadership in SCCT sites, especially in COVID-19 management. Members are encouraged to look after themselves and their colleagues in these unreasonable situations. Use internal SCCT reporting systems, if you can, to highlight the impact on your workload and morale. Notify the ANMF if you are unable to get a response from your internal systems.

Enterprise Agreement (EA)

The ANMF Industrial Team is currently looking over the final Draft EA document prior to SCCT putting the EA to a vote in coming weeks. Look out for an email with detail of changes.  

Changes to Servery and Catering

The ANMF has been made aware these changes are still affecting members, staff, and residents and we encourage members to continue to let SCCT know how these changes are affecting your role.

Respect Coroneagh Park

The ANMF, on behalf of members from Coroneagh Park, formally raised a number of workload concerns with Respect management. A response has been received which will be discussed with members at a meeting to be convened in the coming week. Come along and have your say. Click here for more information.

Meercroft

The ANMF Member Engagement Officer Nick Hood met with members from Meercroft. Members raised a number of workload concerns.  In order to ascertain the extent of the workload concerns, members have been sent a survey link which will be open for two weeks. Members are encouraged to complete the survey. Click here for more information.

Other Residential Aged Care Facility sites including EAs

Huon Regional Care

Agreements have been sent to Fair Work Commission for approval. Email updates to follow regarding final approval.

QV Care

Draft EA documents have been provided to our Industrial Team and members will be notified once the ANMF is happy with these finalised documents, then a vote will be held soon.

Regis

The ANMF is awaiting an updated offer for members to consider from Regis and their bargaining representatives. The ANMF will visit Regis/Warrane on Thursday 9 June 2022.

Glenview

The ANMF and Glenview met for pre-bargaining discussions on Tuesday 12 April 2022. Formal EA meetings have been delayed due to illness and it is anticipated for negotiations to commence soon. Further updates to follow.

Korongee Village (KV), (Glenview)

The ANMF is awaiting a response to correspondence about safety matters at KV from the CEO. WorkSafe Tasmania, and Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, have also been notified of members’ concerns.

Other Tasmanian Health Service (THS) – Primary Health Sites

Bruny Island Community Health Centre (BICHC)

The THS will meet with staff on Tuesday 14 June 2022 to discuss clinical model and roles. The ANMF is awaiting a reply from senior management regarding attending the meeting.

New Norfolk District Hospital (NNDH)

The ANMF welcomes the new Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to NNDH. Members signed campaign postcards and discussed the ANMF industrial campaign during a meeting on Tuesday 31 May 2022.

Community Rapid Response Team (CRRT)

The ANMF visited members on Thursday 26 May 2022 to discuss our public sector campaign and distribute campaign materials, and also discussed actions.

Midlands Multi-Purpose Centre, Oatlands

The ANMF organiser held a member meeting on Monday 30 May 2022 where members discussed the current industrial campaign signed cards and considered actions. Look out for a further email regarding actions.

Hobart Community Nursing (HCN)

The ANMF visited members on Wednesday 25 May 2022 where we discussed the industrial campaign, and members signed campaign cards. The ANMF has also followed up with correspondence to HCN management regarding several member concerns. We await a response.

Glenorchy Community Nursing

The ANMF visited members on Thursday 26 May 2022 to discuss the current public sector campaign, action, and sign campaign cards.

Kingston Community Nursing

The ANMF visited on Wednesday 1 June 2022 and enjoyed chatting with members about the industrial campaign, signing cards, mapping the site, and discussing possible actions.

Huonville Community Nursing

The ANMF visited on Wednesday 1 June 2022 and discussed the current industrial campaign with members, along with actions, staffing, recruitment, and a number of other issues. Look out for further updates about the campaign.
