Launceston General Hospital

Wards 4O/4B

On Thursday 1 September 2022, the ANMF met with members on Wards 4O/4B to discuss the progress of the Step 2 Grievance. The ANMF confirmed a way forward on the proposed solutions and have now written back to Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management. For a full update please click here.

Ward 5D

Following on from the Ward 5D member meeting held on Friday 26 August 2022, the ANMF has now written to THS management confirming members’ endorsement of the proposed new benchmark and nursing FTE profile. The ANMF has indicated that the Step 2 Grievance will be resolved once the proposed benchmarking FTE has been recruited against and filled, including the extra 1.81 FTE for the Oncology Haematology CNC indirect 7 days a week.

Ward 5B

The ANMF is now in receipt of the THS North response to our letter dated Thursday 11 August 2022 raising workload concerns on behalf of Ward 5B members. A meeting with members will be scheduled shortly. For a full update please click here.

Emergency Department (ED)

Following on from the last ED ANMF member meeting held on Friday 12 August 2022, the ANMF has now corresponded with the THS regarding the ongoing concerns of workload, bed block, the finalisation of solutions coming out of the 2021/22 TIC process, and further detailed subsequent solutions provided by members to assist with workload and bed block. The ANMF expects a response to this correspondence by Tuesday 13 September 2022 and will consult with members further.
