Aged Care Updates

Southern Cross Care (SCCT)

Enterprise Agreement (EA)
The employer has finally provided a copy of the draft agreement; this is currently being reviewed by our industrial team.

Changes to leadership at SCCT, Underpayments Issue, Lack of Clinical Leadership
The ANMF still encourages members to feedback issues related to absence or instability of leadership in SCCT sites, especially in Covid-19 management. Members are encouraged to look after themselves and their colleagues in these unreasonable situations. Use internal SCCT reporting systems, and escalate to next level management if you can, to highlight the impact on your workload and morale. Notify the ANMF if you are unable to get a response from your internal systems, and managers. Also, notify the ANMF if you are ordered to attend a one-to-one meeting so we can follow up and ensure procedural fairness and support.

Rosary Gardens
In the absence of a Facility Manager, the ANMF encourages members to action concerns as above under Lack of Clinical Leadership.

Guilford Young Grove
The ANMF visited with morning tea for members on Monday 12 September 2022.

Other Residential Aged Care Facilities and private sites including. EAs

Salvation Army Barrington Lodge
The ANMF visited members on Wednesday 21 September 2022. A one-year wage offer was discussed. We are awaiting further detail regarding the offer from management.

Mary Ogilvy
The ANMF will visit soon to discuss our Log of Claims (LoC) for the EA. Look out for a flyer and text with date and time.

May Shaw
A first EA meeting was held on Thursday 15 September 2022. The meeting was well attended with ANMF Reps from Scottsdale and Swansea. May Shaw provided an overview of their offer. Further detail regarding allowances and wage offer will come in the next few weeks. Look out for a Newsflash.

Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT) Freemasons
The ANMF notes MCT has approved a 3% wage rise to all nurses. We are still awaiting detail regarding any further EA bargaining.

Uniting AgeWell
The ANMF has visited all Southern sites to consult regarding our Log of Claims (LoC) for the coming EA negotiations. At these meetings, members have shown an overwhelming desire that all staff get and retain a 30-minute paid meal break. The ANMF is still waiting dates for bargaining.

South Eastern Community Care
EA meetings have started, and all parties are keen to conduct a timely bargaining this time. Look out for updates once negotiations begin on Thursday 6 October 2022.

 One Care
The General Agreement has been lodged with Fair Work.

Hobart District Nurses Service (HDNS)
The ANMF held a very well attended member meeting at HDNS on Wednesday 14 September 2022. Members were pleased to nominate no less than four Representatives at this meeting! Look out for nomination notices on the ANMF notice board.

Regis
Look out for an update soon regarding Regis intent to put EA to a vote.

Other Tasmanian Health Service (THS) Primary Health Sites

Bruny Island Community Health Centre (BICHC)
The ANMF visited on Tuesday 20 September 2022 to discuss and take direction from members regarding a response to THS Change Proposal. This response letter will be sent to the THS this week. Please note closing date for feedback has been extended to COB Monday 10 October 2022. 

Tandara Lodge
Members have indicated their support for the current Agreements to roll over for 12 months with negotiations (and a new Log of Claims) to commence in 2023. The employer did award a wage increase to members in July 2022.
