Statewide

Lack of Clinical Leadership –  Southern Cross Care Tasmania (SCCT)

The ANMF still encourage members to feedback issues related to absence, instability or inadequate leadership in SCCT sites. Use internal SCCT reporting systems, and escalate to next level management if you can, to highlight the impact on your workload and morale. Notify the ANMF if you are unable to get a response from your internal systems, and managers.

North

The new Northern Aged Care Organiser, Nicki Hood is looking forward to meeting members in their workplaces over the coming weeks/months. Keep an eye out in your inbox for a member meeting invite.

Regis Enterprise Agreement – up for ballot

Regis has offered a significant reduction in employee benefits under the new Enterprise Agreement and the ANMF encourage employees to vote NO. The ballot closes on Thursday 22 December 2022 at 1500hrs.

Regis Legana

Recent member meetings have been conducted at Regis Legana where members raised concerns about new employment contracts from Regis in conjunction with Enterprise Agreement negotiations. Members are encouraged to seek advice from the ANMF Member Support Team prior to signing any agreement. Your old contracts remain valid until they are replaced with a new signed version.

Respect Fred French

Members await an indication if Respect will include them in a new agreement. Issues raised on Tuesday 13 December 2022 have been addressed by the Facility Manager and this information has been circulated via a newsflash communication.

Calvary Care Riverside

Members raised an enquiry regarding overtime payment. Members are encouraged to raise this in the first instance with the Human Resources (HR) manager and if no outcome is achieved, please contact the ANMF Member Support Team for assistance.

South

Salvation Army Barrington Lodge

The ANMF is aware of overwhelming workloads at Barrington Lodge in relation to reduced staffing ratios and an increase in the number of residents with COVID-19. In response, management state they have increased staffing. Please continue to update the ANMF if your workloads are not safe.

Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT) Freemasons

Respect has responded to the relevant ANMF letter, and are consulting regarding the proposed roster changes. Respect intend to release a proposed roster in early January 2023 for staff to review. The ANMF will visit during the week commencing Monday 9 January 2023 to discuss this with members. Keep an eye out for a flyer with the date and time of the visit.

Regis Aged Care Eastern Shore – Enterprise Agreement

The ANMF visited members at Regis Eastern Shore on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 December 2022, to discuss the Enterprise Agreement ballot. Members were unanimous at these meetings in supporting a NO vote. Keep an eye out for a late update with the result and any upcoming actions.

Updates correct as at 21 December 2022.
