Launceston General Hospital (LGH)

Proposed New Organisational Structure

The ANMF has written to Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management regarding the proposed new Launceston General Hospital (LGH) organisational structure, raising member’s concerns regarding a lack of consultation. View the latest update.

Emergency Department (ED)

On Friday 9 June 2023 the ANMF notified the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) about the workload dispute raised back in 2021 has now been resolved. The ANMF successfully advocated for and won an increase in 21.3 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) for the LGH ED to assist with workloads. This FTE has also facilitated the introduction of a Clinical Coach, and a further increase in FTE was also achieved by the introduction of a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for Quality and Safety. The ANMF will now focus on measures to relive bed block through advocacy at the LGH Safe Staffing meeting. Further updates to follow.

COVID-19 Support Positions

The ANMF has successfully negotiated a reprieve for our members regarding COVID-19 support positions for Ward 6D, Ward 5D, Ward 3R, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and ED. View the latest update.
