Public Sector Updates – North West

Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF, on behalf of members at the MCH ED, met with Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management and ANMF Workplace Representatives on Wednesday 14 June 2023. The meeting discussion was about the response to the workload and safe staffing concerns raised including, the development and trial a “matrix” document or similar that would support clinical decision making with regards to safe staffing. Members will be kept informed of progress via a newsflash update and a member meeting.

North West Hospitals

Benchmarking for all wards and units at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) and MCH have been delayed until early in the financial year to capture 2022/2023. The ANMF will schedule meetings with each ward and unit as the data becomes available to seek members endorsement. Keep an eye out for ANMF updates to have your say about staffing in your ward/unit.

Updates correct as at 14 June 2023.
