Calvary Healthcare Workloads (North)

ANMF Northern Organiser, Nicki Hood held member meetings at St Vincent’s and St Luke’s hospitals on Thursday 20 July 2023. Visits to both campuses identified that experienced nurses are leaving due to ongoing workload pressures. Staff are concerned that Calvary is not meeting (in theatre areas) the Australian College of Perioperative Nurses (ACORN) safe staffing standards. Members are reminded it is crucial that clinical workload forms are completed for each shift/ward where staffing levels were inadequate or unsafe, and where you were unable to take a meal break or workloads remain unacceptable. It is also vitally important all members ensure their personal/workplace details are up to date.

Members are encouraged to contact Northern Organiser Nicki Hood via email at Nicki.Hood@anmftas.org.au if you have any concerns you wish to raise.

North West

North West Private Hospital (NWPH) – Rivendell Ward

ANMF officials met with members at the NWPH Rivendell Ward to discuss progress of their workload concerns and to seek further direction. Some concerns have been addressed, and ongoing concerns will be raised with NWPH management soon.

South

Calvary Lenah Valley Perioperative Services

The ANMF has scheduled a member meeting in the Theatre and Recovery unit on Wednesday 2 August 2023 at 0700hrs, to discuss the Enterprise Agreement (EA negotiations) and report feedback from members. The ANMF realise that it can be hard for members to leave theatre and attend meetings held in the dining room due to workflow. We hope the meeting time will allow more members to attend.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, please ensure your details are up to date on our database in order that information is sent to you in a timely manner.  You can update your details here.

Updates correct as at 26 July 2023.
