Calvary Health Care

Members across the state have indicated to the ANMF that the final offer from Calvary is inadequate to address cost of living pressures, nor would it attract and retain the skilled nurses required to mitigate the loss of experienced staff leaving Calvary due to poor working conditions.

As requested by members, the ANMF is now giving consideration to lodging a protected action ballot application until an application is applied for (and granted) by the Fair Work Commission. During this time, members must continue to work as usual.

It is vitally important all members ensure their personal and workplace details are updated so that we can send correspondence to members any developments in relation to the Enterprise Bargaining. If a protected action ballot is to be run and there is not full member support, the ANMF will find it difficult to push for a better offer.

UTAS

Calling all student Nurses! Organisers Shane Rickerby and Nicki Hood will be on the Northern UTAS Campus over the next few weeks! Pop over to J Block, pick up some merch, and go into the draw to win a hamper and a stethoscope. ANMF student membership is free. Keep an eye out for flyers on campus with all the details.

May Shaw Scottsdale

Following advice from the Australian Government regarding the Fair Work Value Case, May Shaw has adjusted their final wage offer in the enterprise agreement process. ANMF Northern Organiser Nicki Hood was onsite this week to seek endorsement from members of this new offer. Further updates will follow once received.

Calvary Aged Care – Enrolled Nurse (EN) roles

The ANMF attended open meetings with the employer to try and understand the changes Calvary management are proposing at their Sandhill and Riverside Views facilities.  The ANMF understands that Calvary is looking to recruit further personal care workers to fulfil their obligations to provide 200 minutes of care per resident per day once these minutes of care are mandated in October 2023.

Calvary Health Care Tasmania

The ANMF met with Northern members who indicated that unsafe workload concerns remain. Staff continue to have serious concerns that the services offered by Calvary do not meet the standards expected from their patients. We encourage members to continue completing workload forms. North West

North West Private Hospital – Rivendell Ward

ANMF officials met with members at the Rivendell Ward on Wednesday 10 May 2023 to discuss progress of their workload concerns and to seek further direction. Some concerns have been addressed by the employer, with other ongoing concerns being raised with management in coming days.

Calvary South Lenah Valley and St John’s Hospitals

The next Workload Consultative Committee meeting (WCC) is scheduled for Wednesday 26 July 2023, from 1430hrs to 1530hrs in the Boardrooms at St John’s and Lenah Valley or via zoom.
