Public Sector Updates – South

Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Paediatrics/Adolescents (K6)

On Monday 7 August 2023, the ANMF attended a Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) benchmarking meeting in the company of senior Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management and selected direct care staff representatives. Whilst discussion within this meeting was robust and informative, having only received the written materials less than 2 business days in advance of the meeting, the ANMF has advised THS that further opportunity to review the proposal will be required prior to any meeting with members. It is anticipated that a member meeting will be held once any additional information has been provided by THS, so that members might be privy to any/all relevant information when voting to ratify the proposed outcomes (or not). Members will be advised of all developments including any scheduled meetings via a newsflash.

The Department has confirmed that they would like to commence discussions to develop a s.55 industrial agreement in collaboration with the ANMF to formalise the 12-hour shift arrangements for Mistral Place, Tolosa Street, Roy Fagan Centre and Millbrook Rise Centre. The Agreement, once reached, would be registered with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC). The ANMF has sought further clarification from the Department regarding the facilitation of paid meal breaks in this interim period. Further updates to come. You can view the latest update here.

Updates correct as at 9 August 2023.
